Give it a Review
Writing a book and having it published is one thing, but receiving reviews, is quite another. Not all authors ask for them; however when it does happen, authors really do appreciate it, because let's face it. Writing a a children's book is a tedious process with all the details, dialogue, and nuances.
When I was in press for What Does Christmas Really Mean to You, it felt I was doing two books. One was focused on the illustrations and the other was just on the words! And then you have to combine the illustrations and the words together. That pretty much sounds like a third book! Don't even get me started about the rounds of edits. I guess what I am saying is that when you, the reader, look at a children's book or another kind of book, think about the hours that the illustrator, editor, and writer had to take take to make that one book. It's a long process of adding and deleting. I would say that that it is the closet thing to drawing the perfect picture. There are some details that needed to be added with different types of pencils, and then you have to remove your eraser to remove some lines or details.
I have been blessed to have written and published three books, but most importantly, I have grown from each project. With this said, a few people have been gracious with their time to provide their feedback on the book What Does Christmas Really Mean to You. I would like to have more reviews of this book so that other readers are aware of it. I have placed one of the reviews down below from the amazon website.
REVIEW
What I personally loved about this new book, was how it teaches children in such a loving way the joys of the holidays without taking away the true meaning of the birth of Christ.
Being a Tutu (Grandmother in Hawaiian) myself of 5 grandchildren and a mother of 3 children, who doesn’t love the holidays! Building snowmen, hot cocoa, making gingerbread houses, and more! So much fun! However, in a society where everything can be and does at times get so commercialized especially around the holidays, we can lose sight of what is truly important.
Author Dain Ray Devon has done a beautiful job introducing children to the bible through this beautiful children’s book What Does Christmas Really Mean To You, perfect for Sunday School teachers, a gift for any teacher really, a gift for parents or anyone with children who want to teach them more about Jesus and the impact He has in our lives!
The illustrations throughout the book will captivate readers of all ages and only enhance your reading enjoyment along with the spiritual message that is so eloquently written by the author. A true family book that all will enjoy and I highly recommend everyone adding to their library. I know I have! Happy reading everyone!

First of all, this book has a bright picture which will get the attention of young readers. It is written in a way that young ones can identify. Most important, it shows that many have different ideas about what Christmas is about, but explains the true meaning of Christmas. I, as a grandparent, find that this is a great book to share with my grandchildren.
